BUCKLE UP!

OK, so honestly when was the last time you wore overalls?

The last time I wore overalls was when I was in elementary and they were overall shorts. They had little snails and mushrooms on them and I was obsessed with them! Haha!

Well guess what? The obsession is back and better than ever, but this time around I'm an "adult" and they are overall pants!

Don't knock them til ya try them! What I love most about overalls, as an adult, is that they can be worn differently for every occasion. Running errands, cute bar outfit, lounging around the house, back to school outfit, dinner plans and many more! At least try them on if you come across any...

Do any of you have an Instagram? If so FOLLOW ME to see what I'm up to. I also have links in the top right corner of this page to my Instagram and Facebook page. Check them out!

This was such a great find at Old Navy! They only had 3 left and one of them happened to be my size. Working so close to an Old Navy and being a Gap Inc. employee always gives me an opportunity to see whats new, whats out, and the new trends.

These overalls were a perfect fit! I often see the oversize baggy ones (which are just as cute when styled right) but these ones fit more tailored. They were not too tailored, but still had that overall relaxed fit.

At first I was going to wear a cute striped tee with the overalls, but I wanted a twist with them so I went for the off the shoulders crop top look. I think I nailed it... Farmer girl with a twist. Haha!

Once again here is the necklace I made like in my past post
FIELD OF DAISIES, but this time the bar is silver instead of gold. I swear these little wrap choker necklaces spark up any outfit. I will be making more of the wrap choker necklaces, along with different colors so look out for them in future posts!

What do you guys think about my necklace? Comment below and give feedback :)

Accessories + Details = Fabulous!

The sleeves on this top are long and it was a hot day. (plus I wanted to show off accessories) So I did a couple messy folds to make it a 3/4 sleeve. This cute off the shoulders crop top was so comfortable and light for this hot day.

Just like I said in my past post PURPLE HAZE I have these heels in both nude and black. I love them both equally! SO comfortable and versatile!

In the near future I'm going to try an do a hair post on how I wash, condition and manage my crazy curls. Would you all be interested in a curly hair post? Comment below.

I am still learning all there is about curls and trying different products, so bare with me...

YOU'RE SO SWEET YOU'RE GIVING ME A TOOTHACHE

So I thought I would do a post with my gel nail polish. I haven't done my nails in a while, just to give them a breather (aka I was too lazy to do them) I started to do my own gel polish a few years back when I was given the Gelish set which included the LED light lamp, plug in cord, nail files and 4 polish starters (pH Bond, Foundation, Top it Off and Nourish) From that day on my life was changed.

It created a MONSTER...

I gradually did my research on the polish and how to use it correctly, then came the polish buying frenzy. These babies are not cheap... But the cool thing is that you can find them at Sally Beauty Supply Store for reduced prices (as you can see the red tags on some polishes in the picture below) or there is always some sort of promotion on them. At first I mainly stuck with the brand Gelish, but then I expanded to other brands and now I get what I can afford and like.

Well here are some pictures that were snapped during the process.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a professional nail Technician or manicurist. I am just a gal who likes to paint her nails. So this is not a step by step tutorial, just some pictures to keep your creative mind flowing and spread some inspiration and knowledge ;)

This is the LED lamp that came in the kit along with a plug in cord. super simple and easy to use.

I have more colors and different brands I did not include in the pictures. You can find all sorts of gel polish everywhere!

They may say  mini but they definitely have a lot of uses out of them. I don't think I have fully used one completely.

The Artificial Nail Remover is used to take off the gel nail polish and the Nail Surface Cleanse is used during the process of painting your nails.

I cut and filed my nails down before the process. I stuck with a classic square shape. I'm a fan of all the nail shapes out there, so I switch it up every time.

This is the color I used. The name is "You're so Sweet You're Giving Me a Toothache" hence my post title. It's part of the Candy Land collection they had. All the titles of the Gelish nail polish are SO adorable and funny!

I confess, the gel process takes a while versus the classic nail polish painting, but it's well worth it! You don't have to wait for your nails to dry or worry about them getting messed up after. You can literally wash the dishes right after you're done Haha! Plus it lasts longer! About 2-3 weeks for me.

This is the final result! I put a cuticle oil on my nails right after so they get nourishment, because they get dry during the process.

I love love love this color! I use this one the most. Baby pink can be such a great neutral color with a bit of a chic flare.

FIELD OF DAISIES

This past week I went to a spot called The Good Bar. It's a cool little bar off of 7th Street in Long Beach. It's a small space but they had a DJ, good beer and a pool table. I feel like those 3 things always qualify as a good night, which it was!

I knew I was going to be out in Long Beach bar hopping, so I went for a funky 90's daisy style. You can never go wrong with a daisy print. So when I bought this daisy print top it fit like a mini dress and it was the perfect length to where it was short, but not too short. Well, after a couple gentle washes it shrunk just a bit, so I pair it with bottoms now. Still my favorite daisy print in my closet!

Last post I said "get ready for some handmade accessories!" Well here it is! Super simple necklace design, but a major statement piece to put some flare to my outfit. So easy to make too! I used some leather suede cord and a gold oversize bead piece to spark it up. I also bought a silver oversize bead piece as well, so I can interchange them depending on my outfit. These wrap choker necklaces are so popular right now, so I decided to finally give them a try and I'm in love! Just a couple wraps around the neck and finish it with a bow! I hope to make a few more with different colored leather suede cord like brown, olive green and more...

OMG these boots... First of all they are sooooo comfortable! I must say certain shoes can be a bit uncomfortable at times, but these bad boys are definitely in my top most comfortable shoes I own. I love the heel height, how they lace up and overall how simple and bad ass they are! Plus they were such a steal! I got these for $21.99 at W. W. Fashion in Long Beach off of Long Beach Blvd. You can easily spend a couple hours in this place searching for clothes, shoes and accessories. Believe me, I've done it! Haha :)

Last but not least this is one of my favorite lipsticks from Colourpop. It's a dark brown ultra matte lip stain called "Limbo". I love how matte it is without it drying your lips completely. (everyone is different though) I also got a matching lip liner with it! It completed my outfit and stayed on alllllllll night!

Till next time!

I love how the fringe from my cut off shorts did a peek-a-boo type style under this top. People were probably thinking "Is she wearing shorts under that short dress?!" Haha. Tricky, tricky...

Such a cute wrap necklace to add to any outfit!

This top makes me want to run in a field of daisies with Drew Barrymore for some reason. Don't ask why, I just do... Haha

I got these shorts in Yucaipa at this cute little Vintage shop called Red Door Vintage. They were already cut like this and I love how perfect they fit. They show no booty, but they are still sexy due to them being cut offs and having some fringe ;)

I am definitely not a pro pool player, but I do enjoy having a few beers with good company.

AMERICAN DREAM

La La Land! Took a trip to Downtown LA yesterday to hit up the Fashion and Jewelry District. There's something about the concrete jungle and all the cool doodads that get me all hyped up. Plus there is so much funky creativity and inspiration. Got to visit some awesome jewelry supply shops (which is like a toy store for me, I can spend hours in one shop) along with some trendy fabric stores. You can literally find EVERYTHING in Downtown LA...

Seeing as how there was going to be a lot of walking I went for the All American cut off shorts and basic white tee with sandals. You can never go wrong with some shorts and a crisp white tee on a summer day. Although it's a basic look it's all about the details. A half tucked in shirt, dainty long necklace, faux leather backpack and some funky sunglasses, Helloooooooo LA!

If you ever want to elevate a simple look just tuck in your shirt! Whether it's a side tuck, a center tuck or a full shirt tuck. Or you can even cuff your sleeves (Darn! why didn't I think of that at the time haha)

Well folks, get ready for some new handmade accessories next post! I love new accessories and being handmade is a bonus!
What's your jewelry "must have" piece this summer? :)

I thought these shorts would be appropriate not only for LA but to support Team USA in the 2016 Olympics. Whoop, Whoop! Go USA!

I love every little detail of these shorts, from the distressing and rips to the design and relaxed fit.

Who doesn't love an extra shaded cover on their sunglasses? So groovy...

Pardon my french... but isn't it adorable!?

What a steal from Old Navy! Such a cute and comfortable shoulder backpack to carry in LA. I love the simplicity and narrowness of it, plus it goes with everything!

PURPLE HAZE

Ok, so this day I was definitely feeling a Jimi Hendrix vibe all around. I think having a comfortable romper on, with my purple lipstick and curly hair out created this groovy yet modern day energy. Plus you can never go wrong with pairing your day with a Jimi Hendrix song.

Overall I love love love rompers... Besides having to get completely naked just to use the restroom. Haha! (which I'm sure I speak for all women out there) I love this romper to the max because it fits perfectly, it has vertical lines (slimming) instead of horizontal lines (widening) and last but not least it has pockets!

As a Banana Republic employee I have learned a lot about the little details in clothing and styling overall. Every little detail counts whether it's a cuff on pants, accessories, an item of clothing, a funky button and even surprise pockets ;)

I live for accessories, so with that being said one can easily elevate an outfit with accessories. For example, layering necklaces like I did. This is not one necklace, it's 2 separate necklaces I layered to balance out my simple silver bar necklace with my silver dramatic rhinestone spike necklace. Layering accessories can be so much fun and create versatility depending on how you want to style your look. Try it for your next outfit! Experiment with different sizes, colors and styles. I promise it will up your accessory game!

SO, just a little recap! You don't need much to look put together, it's how you put it together that counts. Rompers are an easy and cute "on the go" wardrobe piece, accessorize to spice up any outfit and always trust in Jimi Hendrix to get you through the day :)

I fell in love with this white purse at Forever 21 last year. It gives you the option to hold it as a clutch, a wristlet or over the shoulder. I was timid with the color, but everything it has been through it's still white!

I love this lipstick from MAC called Heroine. I purchased it awhile back and bring it out every so often to give my outfit a funky pop of color.

These heels are by far my most comfortable heels I own. Plus they go with everything! I couldn't help but buy them in black as well. (just as cute in black!)
