YOU'RE SO SWEET YOU'RE GIVING ME A TOOTHACHE

So I thought I would do a post with my gel nail polish. I haven't done my nails in a while, just to give them a breather (aka I was too lazy to do them) I started to do my own gel polish a few years back when I was given the Gelish set which included the LED light lamp, plug in cord, nail files and 4 polish starters (pH Bond, Foundation, Top it Off and Nourish) From that day on my life was changed.

It created a MONSTER...

I gradually did my research on the polish and how to use it correctly, then came the polish buying frenzy. These babies are not cheap... But the cool thing is that you can find them at Sally Beauty Supply Store for reduced prices (as you can see the red tags on some polishes in the picture below) or there is always some sort of promotion on them. At first I mainly stuck with the brand Gelish, but then I expanded to other brands and now I get what I can afford and like.

Well here are some pictures that were snapped during the process.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a professional nail Technician or manicurist. I am just a gal who likes to paint her nails. So this is not a step by step tutorial, just some pictures to keep your creative mind flowing and spread some inspiration and knowledge ;)

This is the LED lamp that came in the kit along with a plug in cord. super simple and easy to use.

I have more colors and different brands I did not include in the pictures. You can find all sorts of gel polish everywhere!

They may say  mini but they definitely have a lot of uses out of them. I don't think I have fully used one completely.

The Artificial Nail Remover is used to take off the gel nail polish and the Nail Surface Cleanse is used during the process of painting your nails.

I cut and filed my nails down before the process. I stuck with a classic square shape. I'm a fan of all the nail shapes out there, so I switch it up every time.

This is the color I used. The name is "You're so Sweet You're Giving Me a Toothache" hence my post title. It's part of the Candy Land collection they had. All the titles of the Gelish nail polish are SO adorable and funny!

I confess, the gel process takes a while versus the classic nail polish painting, but it's well worth it! You don't have to wait for your nails to dry or worry about them getting messed up after. You can literally wash the dishes right after you're done Haha! Plus it lasts longer! About 2-3 weeks for me.

This is the final result! I put a cuticle oil on my nails right after so they get nourishment, because they get dry during the process.

I love love love this color! I use this one the most. Baby pink can be such a great neutral color with a bit of a chic flare.
